I focus on small business, because I love helping entrepreneurs build businesses and create a lasting legacy. I believe entrepreneurship is the best path to self-reliance, self-determination and self-ownership, and in my opinion, small business is the most tangible manifestation of the American Dream.
I started my career at Bankers Trust in their retirement services group, where I worked on 401k and pension plans for Fortune 500 companies, including Texas Instruments and IBM. After gaining some valuable experience, I went back to school and earned my law degree. I passed the bar exam, then briefly worked for the IRS office of Chief Counsel, in the Financial Institutions and Products Division, before transitioning back to the private sector. Prior to joining Ameris Bank, I spent over a decade in wealth management, as a private banker, serving business owners and ultra-high net worth families, first at Morgan Stanley then later at Merrill Lynch. I am a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. I have a Master’s degree in Finance from Georgia State University and I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
